Preparation
Chlamydia abortus elementary and reticular bodies, purified from infected host cells by density gradient centrifugation. Presented in phosphate buffered saline pH 7.5.

Inactivation
Heat treatment and sonication. Inactivity is confirmed by attempted growth under original culture conditions. Since no procedure can guarantee absolute sterility, the reagent should be handled with appropriate safety precautions.
