Activity: 1 pmol of GGTase-I double mutant will transfer 0.5 pmol of BGPP to RhoA in 15 min at 37°C.
GGTase-I is one of the three mammalian protein prenyltransferases. The double mutant of GGTase-I was engineered to efficiently transfer biotin-geranylpyrophosphate (BGPP, Cat.# LI-015) onto its native protein substrates. This approach allows the detection of femtomolar amounts of prenylatable proteins in eukaryotic cells and tissues as well as effective inhibitor screening.
