Ras proteins are members of the superfamily of small GTP-binding proteins that function as molecular switches controlling a variety of signalling and transport pathways. N-Ras is one of the classic human Ras proteins (H-, N-, K-Ras4A, and K-Ras4B). N-Ras ΔC comprises the first 167 residues of Ras that are sufficient for binding guanine nucleotides and hydrolysis of GTP, but lacks the C-terminal CaaX motif necessary for membrane localization of Ras. Protein preparation is 100% GDP-loaded, measured by HPLC.
