Albumins are frequently used as stabilizers for other solubilized proteins (e.g., labile enzymes). BSA can act as co-substrate.
It reduces the proteolytic degradation of CPPs. We recommend concentrations of 0.5 to 1 % BSA in serum free medium. BSA can stimulate the cargo internalisation, especially in tumor cells.

BSA is a single polypeptide chain which consist of 583 amino acid residues and no carbohydrates. It contains 17 intrachain disulfide bridges and 1 sulfhydryl group at pH 5-7.
