The MeatDetect portfolio at Jena Bioscience continues to grow. With the new MeatDetect qPCR Kit Chicken+Turkey (PCR-709), we expand our established product line for rapid species identification in food and feed samples. In our multicultural, interconnected world, reliable meat analysis is becoming increasingly important – whether for food quality control, verification of labeling claims or analysis of religiously controlled products such as halal food.
Alongside our existing MeatDetect solutions for pork, beef and horse DNA, the new multiplex kit enables simultaneous detection of chicken and turkey DNA within approximately one hour and with minimal hands-on time.
The kit is based on a convenient Direct qPCR workflow. Using the optimized Direct Extraction Buffer included in the kit, DNA can be released directly from raw, cooked or processed samples and transferred immediately into the qPCR reaction – without any additional time-consuming purification steps. Matching positive control DNAs for all targeted species are available separately to support assay validation and quality control workflows.
The assay has been designed for food producers, analytical laboratories and food control authorities, combining high sensitivity with fast and robust multiplex real-time PCR detection.
