Nucleases (e.g. RNase A or DNase I) are enzymes facilitating the cleavage of phosphodiester bonds in nucleic acids (RNA, ss- or ds-DNA). Due to their omnipresence in the environment, they are a common threat to many molecular biological applications such as PCR and RT-PCR reactions affecting template stability and product formation.
The kits are designed for simplicity and sensitivity: Straightforward assays to detect even lowest amounts of RNase A (0.1 pg/µl) and/or DNase I (1x10-5 units/µl). The master mixes are ready-to-use and come along with an easy-to-handle protocol for rapid simultaneous analysis based on labeled RNA- and DNA-probes as reporter dyes. The measurement can be performed time-resolved in a real-time PCR cycler or as an endpoint determination in a conventional fluorescence reader.
Our Nuclease Detection kits are available for combined identification of RNase + DNase contamination or for DNase contamination only.
