The decreasing costs for oligos/PCR-primers don't make the purchase of an oligo a tough investment decision anymore. When getting a flawed oligo however, it may take quite some time until this will be identified as the cause of a failed PCR experiment, resulting in tremendous downstream costs and delays.
Therefore, every oligo nucleotide from Jena Bioscience is assayed by MALDI-MS ensuring absence of n-1 or other byproducts.
