A large number of purine and pyrimidine nucleotide analogs interfere with cellular processes such as cell proliferation and protein or DNA synthesis. Their interaction with DNA and the associated cytotoxicity are widely used in the treatment of malignant tumors.
Jena Bioscience has launched a new section of CYTOSTATIC NUCLEOTIDE ANALOGS!
6-Methyl-thioinosine-5'-triphosphate has anti-neoplastic and anti-angiogenic properties. It inhibits amido-phosphoribosyl-transferase as well as fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF2)-induced cell proliferation.
The fluorouracil metabolite 5-Fluoro-2'-deoxyuridine-monophosphate (5F-dUMP) competes with uracil to bind with thymidylate synthetase (TS) and the folate cofactor. This results in decreased thymidine production and therefore decreased DNA synthesis and repair, and ultimately decreased cell proliferation.
If you require nucleotide analogs that are not on stock please send us an e-mail at nucleotides@jenabioscience.com to receive a quote for a custom synthesis.
