Jena Bioscience is now offering a product line for direct enzymatic incorporation of fluorescent labeled nucleotides into DNA. The thoroughly composed kits are suitable for all typical DNA labeling applications such as FISH, microarray gene expression profiling, single molecule detection and other nucleic acid hybridization assays.
The Kits contain all reagents required for DNA labeling providing a highly efficient, easy-to-perform and rapid labeling procedure. The excellent stability and quantum yield of the fluorophores combined with a high incorporation rate of the dye-dUTP complex makes it the ideal choice for a broad range of fluorescence applications.

Fluorescent labeling by PCR
In this PCR reaction dTTP is partially substituted by dye-dUTP. The Taq polymerase efficiently incorporates these dye-dUTPs resulting in fluorescent labeled double-stranded DNA.

Fluorescent labeling by Nick Translation
Nick translation labeling based on the reverse activities of DNA polymerase I and DNase I is used to randomly replace dTTP with dye-labeled dUTP in DNA probes. The well balanced activities of the enzyme mix ensure the generation of highly labeled double stranded DNA fragments.
