Media and Plating - Synthetic LEXSY Cultivation Media
The synthetic protein and serum-free LEXSY media allow the cultivation of LEXSY expression cultures for specific tasks. Cell densities in these media are comparable to the complex media.
Since the L. tarentolae strains are auxotrophic for 11 amino acids, they are ideally suited for amino acid labeling experiments. For this task, upon request, we offer fully defined media for labeling with the amino acid of choice.

Please note:
- Hemin is essential for growth of LEXSY cultures.
- Addition of Pen-Strep prevents growth of bacterial contaminations.
- Following addition of these components the media can be used within two weeks.
For specific instructions please, consult the particular media datasheets. - If the completed media are to be used after this period, appropriate amounts of additives have to be re-added.
