5-Methyl-dCTP and 5-Aza-dCTP can be enzymatically incorporated into DNA. 5-methyl-dCTP is used to inactivate restriction enzyme recognition sites and for gene expression and regulation studies. 5-Aza-dCTP is a potent inhibitor of DNA methylation.
