CrystalClear Strips were designed and are manufactured by Douglas Instruments. 12 strips fit into the supplied plate frame, creating a 96 well crystallization plate. They are suitable for both automatic and manual crystallization, including screening and optimization.

CrystalClear 'Duo': The 'Duos' have miniature wells designed for vapor diffusion with two depressions on the shelf for samples. The strips are sealed with tape.
The plate has SBS 9 millimeter spacing in both directions, which makes it suitable for use with all dispensing robots and in all observation systems.

CrystalClear 'P': The platform version, has a circular platform on the shelf on which samples are placed. This gives improved viewing and is especially suitable for samples containing detergents such as membrane protein samples. The edge of the platform has a "pinning edge" which prevents liquids from running down into the reservoirs.
The spacing between strips is 9 mm (the regular SBS spacing). However, the spacing between sample chambers along a the 'P' strip is only 8.45 mm.
