Restriction Enzymes
Enzyme Finder: The navigation table below leads you to the appropriate Jena Bioscience enzyme. Simply search for your enzyme and follow the link. All available prototype enzymes are marked green, yellow marks indicate the availability of an isoschizomer with identical recognition sequence and cutting pattern only isolated from a different strain of bacteria. Neoschizomers with identical recognition sequence but different cutting pattern are marked red and might be also applicable for the required application.
General Information: Activity Specification, Quality Control, Stability and more...
Speedy Restriction Enzymes: Many of our restriction enzymes work in a time range of minutes. For detailed assay conditons please refer to the data sheets or to our flyer Restriction Enzymes - Relative Activities.
Reaction Buffer System: The Jena Bioscience Buffer System contains of 5 reaction buffers each one fitting to a corresponding group of restriction enzymes. Additionally, specially optimized buffers are provided for selected enzymes to obtain its maximum specificity and efficiency. For detailed information on enzym activities or buffer compositions please refer to Restriction Enzymes - Relative Activities.
In general, all Jena Bioscience enzymes are compatible with the buffer systems of other restriction enzyme suppliers such as NEB and Fermentas. But please keep in mind that isoschizomers supplied by different suppliers could be of distinct origin and may vary in optimal reaction conditions or other properties. For this reason we recommend the use of original Jena Bioscience reaction buffers and assay conditions to achieve best results.
