Fluorescent nucleotides have found a plethora of applications in life science including their use in signal transduction research of G-proteins and kinases, as probes for the actomyosin system and other ATP-utilizing proteins, or for labeling of DNA through incorporation by polymerases. Here we offer three general types of fluorescent nucleotides thoroughly selected among the wealth of possibilities to cover the whole range of applications with the most suitable probes:
