LEXSY Expression Kits
|

The LEXSY Expression Kits contain all components required for setting up this unique eukaryotic protein production system. The kits come in two formats that allow either constitutive or highly controlled inducible expression. Each kit can be used for both, intracellular and secretory expression of target proteins as described in detail in LEXSY Background.

Which kit should I use?
- The new LEXSYcon2 Expression Kit permits efficient production of a large variety of proteins. Convenient restriction enzyme site architecture allows to choose from cytosolic expression (standard) and secretory expression (in which an export signal peptide mediates secretion into the culture medium) simply by the way of cloning. Secretory expression is recommended for proteins that undergo post-translational modifications (PTMs, such as glycosylation or disulfide bond formation). The new LEXSYcon2 Kit replaces the previous LEXSYcon Kit for constitutive expression (Cat.-No. EGE-1000) and LEXSecrete Kit for secretory expression (Cat.-No EGE-1100). It combines both features in one kit and provides more flexibility for cloning.
- The new LEXSinduce2 Expression Kit contains the same features as the above constitutive technology but - in addition - allows tight control of protein expression. It is the only eukaryotic analogue to the well known bacterial T7 expression architecture. Expression is switched on simply by addition of an inducer (tetracycline) at any chosen time during cell cultivation and thereby achieves higher yields (up to 5…10-fold higher than constitutive expression) and - in addition - alleviates potential toxicity issues of the expressed proteins of interest. The new LEXSinduce2 Kit replaces the previous LEXSinduce Kit for constitutive expression (Cat.-No. EGE-1200).
