PEG-Anomalous™
|
The PEG-Anomalous™ Crystallization Screens are formulated using one of four different molecular weight PEG’s; 30%(w/v) PEG 1000, 20%(w/v) PEG 4000, 20%(w/v) PEG 8000, or 10%(w/v) PEG 10,000 with 48 different anomalous salts that have a heavy atom ion component (cation or anion) with strong anomalous X-ray scattering behavior within the wavelength range generally useful for macromolecular crystallography (0.9 – 2.3 Angstrom). These heavy ions have been shown to bind non-covalently with high occupancy to the surfaces of protein molecules in crystals, providing an excellent means for single-crystal phasing via their anomalous scattering signal.
Full PEG-Series Anomalous™ in 4 x 96 Well Matrix Block Plates: Contains 192 unique formulations comprising all 4 sets of the PEG 1K, 4K, 8K, and 10K Anomalous screens, each with one of 48 different anomalous salts that have a heavy atom ion component (cation or anion) with strong anomalous X-ray scattering behavior.

Each formulation is supplied in 1.0 ml volumes, prepared with ultra-pure chemicals and water (18.2 Megohm-cm) followed by sterile 0.22 micron filtration into a sterile 96 deep well matrix block plate that is sealed with a sterile reusable matte cover.
