The triennial meetings of the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) represent a highlight for crystallographers worldwide. The 2011 meeting took place in Madrid, Spain from August 22-30.
Our very special thanks go to Diffractia.com, our distributor with focus on crystallography in Spain. Diffractia.com represented us at their booth and promoted the JBScreens.

As our team is getting bigger, it was time to update the “About us” section! Our blog is back!
We promised to post a picture of the repaired front roof quite some time ago.
Well, here we go:

No one has run against it again since it has been repaired, thanks to our new railing:

However, the vehicles keep running against the bollard:

We thought the red colour would help….
After all, the railing is a robust one :-)

We are pleased to announce that we have entered into a distribution agreement with Omscientia, Inc. (Carlsbad, CA, USA) to offer our entire suite of protein crystallization products. Omscientia will be offering Jena Bioscience’s products which include nucleotides and their non-natural analogs, recombinant proteins & protein production systems, and reagents for the crystallization of biological macromolecules. For the crystallization of biological macromolecules – which is the bottle neck in determining the 3D-structure of any protein – Jena and Omscientia now offer specialized reagents for crystal screening, crystal optimization and phasing that can reduce the time for obtaining high quality crystals suitable for X-ray diffraction from several years to a few days. The Jena Bioscience products are immediately available directly from Omscientia. Jena Bioscience and Omscientia are both excited about the new agreement and believe it will help bring a wider array of choices to crystallographers in North America.

We are happy to announce that we have entered into a partnership with

Tocris Bioscience will distribute our products in all territories served by Tocris USA.
The availability of our products through Tocris will benefit scientists working in a diverse range of fields, including neuroscience, cancer and metabolic disease.
